Kenneth Michael “Mike” Kelley, age 74, of Fairborn, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by his loving wife and step-daughter. He was born September 5, 1947 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the son of Kenneth E. Kelley and Virginia C. (Beemer) Kelley.
Mike was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served his country as a sharpshooter (rifle) and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was an avid baseball fan too, remaining a loyal fan to the Cincinnati Reds, his entire life. Mike was a dedicated husband, in addition to being a supportive step-father and step-grandfather. A special thanks goes out to the Chaplin at Kettering Hospital who supported and influenced Mike’s journey to Christ, there at the final weeks leading up to his death. Therefore, we thank God, because “He crowned the departing,” because “He relieved the pains,” because “He expelled the fear,” and has the deceased believer (Mike) near Him.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth (Virginia) Kelley. Mike is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susan T. Kelley; a step-daughter, Rebecca (Eugene) Pridgett; and a step-granddaughter, Leiah (Jake) Danishek. Mike will be laid to rest August 12, 2022, at 2:00 P.M., at the Dayton National Cemetery with military honors, Dr. David Rakes officiating. Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn 45324. Condolences may be made to the family at www.beltonstroup.com
