Joyce Hale

Joyce Hale, age 81 of New Carlisle passed away Saturday April 19, 2025. She was born October 21, 1943 in Handshoe, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Franklin and May (Collins) Combs. She enjoyed reading the Bible, Facebook and watching all wildlife that came to her yard to get food, including stray cats. Yearly, she would grow tomatoes and tend of her flowers. Joyce liked watching old westerns, Long Ranger being a favorite. She would never pass up a trip to go shopping. She loved all her stepchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren that she helped raise. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Handshoe; siblings, James, Lewis; half siblings, Maxine, Minus, Jesse, Janice; stepsons, David (Garnet) Handshoe; step granddaughter, Jessica Ainsworth; Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, David A Hale; stepchildren that she loved as her own, Darrell (Cassie) Handshoe, David Handshoe, Debra (Steve) Montgomery; Harold (Mary) Hale, Lynn (Glenn) Loving, Cassie Ward; step grandchildren, Angel (Kash) Adams, Kristie (Jason) Wright, Jenny Handshoe, Amanda Loving (Josh), Jessica Loving, Amber Ward, Thomas “Tommy” Ward, Ashley Ward, April (Matt) Leonard, Natalie (Jeremy) Weaver; Stephen (Paige) Montgomery Brent, Dustin (Gabrielle) Montgomery, step great grandchildren, Makenzie, Korbin, Kristin, Logan, Sadie, Star, Allison, Billy, Riley, Haley, Clair, Rebecca, Zechariah, Tabitha, Graham, Benjamin, Eli, Noah, Elise, Ethan, Giselle, Henri, Asher, Jaden, Theodore, Daisy; half-brother, Truman (Loretta) Combs; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. A visitation will be held on Thursday April 24, 2025 from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Yellow Springs Rd, Fairborn. A graveside service will follow at Byron Cemetery at 2:30, 3256 Trebein Rd., Fairborn. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to 4 Paws for Ability, 207 Dayton Ave, Xenia, Ohio 45385.
