Joyce E. Adkins

Joyce E. Adkins, age 86 of Fairborn passed away September 8, 2018.  She was born July 15, 1932 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, the daughter of the late Matthew and Lola (Rose) Mattson.  Joyce was a longtime member of Trinity Christian Assembly; and she enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading, going to the beach, spending time with family and loved her dogs.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cortis Adkins, 4 brothers, Fred Rose, Glen Mattson, Norm Mattson, Gerald Mattson; and a sister, Shirley Harrison.  Joyce is survived by 8 children, Diana (Lenny) Budding, Danny Adkins, David Adkins, Debra (Jim) Ferguson, Donna (Doug) West, Doug Adkins (Judy Mason); Denise (Jeff) Wilmoth, Doris (Ray) West; 16 grandchildren, Rachel Synder, Mike West, Ryan West, Rob Kelly, Jamie Kelly, Blake Budding, Matt Wilmoth, Amanda Wilmoth, Jim Ferguson, Brad Adkins, Jeffery Wilmoth, Rebecca Harris, Jordan West, Kristen Ward, Cari Roth, Nate West; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronnie Sawyer; as well as extended family.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday September 12, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a service will be held on Thursday September 13, 2018 at 11:00 A.M., Brother William Rowe officiating.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association – or- Hospice of Dayton.
