Josephine (Josey) Spear

Age 90 years old. Josephine Spear (Josey) was born October 10, 1930 and was escorted to Heaven by the angels on Tuesday March 16, 2021. She was a born in Clay City, Kentucky to the late Della and Courtney Cooper. Josephine was a lifelong resident of Dayton Ohio. She graduated from Dunbar HS in the class of 1949. She was home maker with her late husband Robert “Bob” Spear for 60 years. She moved to Fairborn in 2004 where she met Pastor Earl Childers and eventually moved and loved with her church family of Fairborn Tabernacle.

Sister Spear was assisted by her neighbor, Sister Theresa McFarland, until Sister McFarland’s untimely death. Sister Spear loved the word of God and was always joyful and unmoved by the cares of the world.  She loved to share the love and promise of salvation of Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her late husband of 60 years, Robert Spear, siblings, Emma Nelson, Jennie Shehee, Margaret, Cecil and Grace Prewitt, Catherine Pullen, Chester, Strawder and Hoover Cooper and Roberta Gay.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Dorothy Donaphin; a host of nieces and nephews. Special friend Mildred Spears
