John H. Lytle, Jr., age 72, of New Paris, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021. He was born January 25, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio; the son of the late John H. Lytle, Sr. and Anita (Scammahorn) Lytle. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James “Jim” Lytle. John is survived by his wife, Carole Barth; daughters, Nikki Lytle and Angela Kiger; son, John B. Lytle; brothers, Randy (Melanie) Lytle and Dan (Dianne) Lytle; grandchildren, Danyelle (Tollen) Harker, Kirsten Kiger, Tawny Kiger, Amanda Lytle (Terrin), Tyler Lytle, Kaylie Lytle, Chloe Lytle, and Kendall Lytle; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sharon Lytle; and numerous extended family members and friends. John worked as a machinist for Heidelberg Finishing Systems for many years until his retirement. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, bowling, playing Euchre. John was also an avid member of the Boy Scouts. What he loved most was his beloved family, especially his grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd, Vandalia, OH 45377, Father Andrew Smith Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery, Vandalia.
