John C. “Johnny” Habel, Jr., age 74 of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday December 23, 2020 at his residence. He was born January 11, 1946 in Dayton, the son of the late John C. Sr. “Jack” and Juliann (Sandra) Habel. Johnny was the owner and operator of Habel and Sons Plumbing and valued the many customers that became like family over the years. An avid Cleveland Browns fan and car buff, he always was ready for a car show or to watch drag racing; and he also liked the outdoors and camping and fishing. Johnny was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Habel. Survivors include his wife, Carla Hurlow; three children, Mark (Shannon) Habel, John Kevin Habel, Jessica Habel; three grandchildren, Julianna, Nicholas, Riley; as well as other extended family and many friends. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 29, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Deacon Max Roadruck officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M.until the time of service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
