Jimmy Dallas Williams, affectionately known as "Hot Rod," passed away on April 14, 2025, at Soin Medical Center. Born on October 5, 1937, in Barbourville, Kentucky, the son of the late Raymond and Rhoda (Barton) Williams.
Jimmy dedicated over 35 years of his career to the craft of blacksmithing at Dayton Forge and Heat Treating, where he earned a reputation not only for his skill but also for his unwavering commitment to excellence. After his retirement, he continued his journey in the realm of automotive enthusiasm by working at George's Speed Shop for several more years, further solidifying his status as a beloved member of his community.
An avid classic car enthusiast, Jimmy found joy in both the mechanics of automobiles and the camaraderie that came with sharing his passion. Alongside his love for cars, he cherished the moments spent boating and fishing with his family and friends at Cherokee Lake. His exceptional skills extended beyond the water where he was renowned as a cornhole champion, a title that spoke to both his competitiveness and his enjoyment of social gatherings.
Jimmy's personality was as vibrant as his interests; he left a mark on everyone he met. Those who were fortunate enough to know him will remember his warmth, his laughter, and his ability to make anyone feel special.
His legacy continues through his cherished family, including his son, James (Lacey) Williams; daughter, Donna Bentrup; four grandchildren, Karla (Joey) Bentrup, Krista Bentrup (Ross Duncan), Austin (Chelsea) Williams, Megan (Andrew) Granato; 14 great-grandchildren, Bre, Kendra, Karson, Poet, Eli, Wyatt, Willow, Odin, Oakley, River, Owen, Ozzy, Kaylah, Nevaeh; as well as several siblings and other extended family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Alene in 2018; a daughter, Penny; and many siblings.
Visitation will be held on Thursday April 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, located at 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. Following the service a procession will go from the funeral home to Willow View Cemetery where Jimmy will be laid to rest.
Jimmy Dallas Williams will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
