Jerry F. Witt

Jerry F. Witt, age 74, of Manchester, Ohio, formerly of Fairborn, passed away Saturday August 7, 2021 at the Dayton VA Medical Center.  He was born January 12, 1947 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Franklin Rolfé and Thelma Estelle (Stansbury) Witt.

Jerry served his country in the US Marines during Vietnam and followed with a career as a police officer, first in Washington, D.C, then in Fairborn where he served until retirement.  He also worked as a contractor overseas with NATO helping setup police forces.  In recent years, Jerry enjoyed working on his cabin and homestead in southern Ohio.  He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, mentor and a friend to many.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by first wife, Sharon; second wife, Sandie; infant son, Shawn; granddaughter, Cheyenne; and an infant sister, Diane. Survivors include a son, Adam (Susie) Witt; a daughter, Patty (Todd) Hobbs; two stepsons, Shawn Williams, Benjamin (Nicole) Williams; seven grandchildren, Adam Jr., Arron, Mateline, Miranda, Courtney, Chelsey; five great grandchildren, Cameron, Jayden, Layla, Nova, Sylvia;  twin brother, Bert (Laverne); three sisters, Denise (Bill), Candy (Chuck), and Thelma Jean; as well as other extended family and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday August 15, 2021 from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Monday August 16, 2021 at 10:30 A.M., Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.  Burial with honors will follow at the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle.
