Jerry W. Redmond

Jerry W. Redmond, age 78 of Fairborn passed away July 27, 2024 with his family by his side.  He was born June 26, 1946 in Central, South Carolina, the son of the late Lewis and Berline (Head) Redmond.

Jerry was a dedicated son, brother, and uncle, with a heart of gold and always saw the good in people. Jerry was employed with Greene Inc. for many years, working assembly. As a dedicated Christian, he sang, worshiped, and grew in his faith for over many years. He enjoyed preaching when he attended Camp Hope and was beyond excited to be deputized as an honorary Sheriff in Colorado. In his free time, Jerry could be found coloring, singing hymns and listening to “The King”, Elvis Presley.  He loved when Christmas came around knowing Santa would be there. Jerry had a special bond with his k9 best friend, Dakota, who remained faithfully by his side.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Redmond, Barbara (Blair) Lockett; brother, Kenneth Redmond; and nephew, Buddy Lockett.  Jerry is survived by a sister, Mary Martin; nieces and nephews, Cristie (John) Walsh, Graham Lockett, Donna Norman; great- nieces and great-nephews, Nicole (Tyler) Martin and their daughter Kenzie Jo, Alexia Lockett, Cody Lockett, David McGill; as well as extended family and many friends.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 7, 2024 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Minister Steve Sisco officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Toward Independence or Greene Inc. in memory of Jerry. If attending the service, please Disney or Christmas attire.
