Jerry L. Cox, age 64 of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday October 2, 2019 at the Hospice of Dayton surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 5, 1955 in Gallipolis, OH, the son of the late Carl and Ruby (Boggs) Cox. Jerry was employed at Summit Behavioral Healthcare, retiring in 2017. Family was most important to Jerry and he enjoyed coaching in Fairborn Little League when his sons were younger and going on many family camping excursions through the years. He loved music and enjoyed attending many live concerts with his wife and family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Cox; and father-in-law, Dell Lowrie. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Teresa; two sons, Jeremy (Cynthia) Cox of Beavercreek, Jacob (Cassandra) Cox of Fairborn; two grandchildren, Hudson Cox and Elleanor Cox, two brothers, Bobby (Jackie) Cox, Terry Cox; a sister, Judy Long; mother-in-law, Betty Domineck; two brothers-in-law, Michael (Angie) Lowrie, Carl Lowrie; sisters-in-law, Karen (Tony) Lowrie, Brenda Cox-King; his cat, Sexy Sadie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. The family will receive friends on Sunday October 6, 2019 from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Monday October 7, 2019 at 10:30 A.M., Pastor Aaron Chivington officiating. Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton Oregon District Tragedy Fund, via The Dayton Foundation, 1401 S. Main St., Suite 100, Dayton, OH 45409.
