Jerry W. Bock

Jerry W. Bock, age 84 of Fairborn, passed away Sunday June 23, 2024 at the Trinity of Fairborn.  He was born December 12, 1939 in Londonderry, Ohio, the son of the late Clement William and Ruth Carolyn (Duffy) Bock.

Jerry was a graduate of Asbury College and was employed as a teacher with Fairborn City Schools, retiring in 1998 after 36 years of service.  He was a longtime member of Faircreek Church.  Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening as well as hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Evan; and a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and James Dunaway.  Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jane; two daughters, Sarah (Kevin) Underwood of Nashville, TN, Joanna (Matt) Pace of Huber Heights; five grandchildren, Emma (Luke) Nelson, Seddon Underwood, Shepard Underwood, Stockton Underwood, Eliza Underwood; a brother, Michael Bock; a sister, Marilyn (Richard) Woolums; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Friday June 28, 2024 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Greg Trout officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
