Janet S. Lantz

Janet S. Lantz, age 80, of Springboro, (formerly Yellow Springs and Fairborn) passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 31, 2023. She was born May 3, 1943, in Salyersville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Earl and Mary (May) Penix.

Janet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sibling. She retired in 1993 after 32 years of employment at Wright-Patterson AFB, tasked with contract specialist. In her free time, she took pleasure in camping, fishing, watching football and traveling out west. Additionally, Janet loved watching her grandkids and great grand kids play sports, rarely missed any of their football, baseball or basketball games - maybe the greatest enjoyment of her life. To those who knew and loved Janet she will be missed, greatly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, USAF SMSgt. (Ret.) David N. Lantz Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Terry) Stephens; son, Kevin (Dawn) Webb; grandchildren, Ben Chapman, Kyle (Haleigh) Webb ; siblings, Dr. Arnold (Bonnie) Penix, Ronald (Elizabeth) Penix , great-grandchildren, Breyden, Lilly, and Silas. The family would like to commend the wonderful service Janet received from Day City Hospice, with special mention to caregivers, Anne Smith and Lisa Bourne

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn.. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M., until the time of service, Chaplain Lisa Stephens officiating. Burial to follow at Byron Cemetery.
