Janet Kay Jacobs

Janet Kay Jacobs, age 66 of Enon, Ohio, passed away, peacefully, Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Trinity Community—Fairborn. She was born October 26, 1958, in Kankakee, Illinois, the daughter of the late Wilburt Lee and Violet Marie (Benham) Jacobs.

Janet lived a fulfilling life that touched the hearts of many. She was a member of the Special Friends Class at Southgate Baptist Church in Springfield, Ohio.  Her formative years were spent on a dairy farm in the heart of rural Illinois. She was the youngest of five siblings whom she loved dearly. Janet spent the last 13 years under the care of her sister Elaine and brother-in-law Nelson. Throughout her life, Janet enjoyed swimming, puzzles, arts 'n crafts, and was known as a "Social Butterfly", never meeting a stranger! Furthermore, Janet was an avid Ohio State Football fan—-looking forward to each new season rooting for her Buckeyes!  Janet will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by a niece, Jackie Long; and brother-in-law, Larry Jacobsen. She is survived by four siblings, Lee (Joy) Wilburt Jacobs, Nancy Jacobsen, Anne (Dennis) Long, Elaine (Nelson) Henning; twenty-three nieces, nephews; and twenty-eight great-nieces, great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held, at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH 45324. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M., until the time of service, Pastor Steve Stiglich officiating. Inurnment to be scheduled at a later date, Peotone, Illinois.
