James A. “Jimmy” Snide, age 56 of Fairborn, went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2018. He was born March 14, 1962 at Tachikawa AFB, Japan, the son of James and Frances (Abruzzino) Snide. Jimmy attended Sinclair College and majored in the Criminal Justice Program. He fought Golden Gloves for three years, qualifying in the quarterfinals in the 165 pound class his last year of competition. Jimmy had a broad experience in retail sales; he was the owner of the S&W Minimart for twelve years and the founder and president of Fran-Tech, Inc. credit card processing to businesses in Montgomery and Greene County. His hobbies included weight lifting, gun collecting, going to the shooting range, and spending time with his family. Jimmy is survived by his parents; sister, Terri (Tim) Holman; five favorite nieces, Nikki (Chris) Gordon, Katie (David) Burns, Jennifer Holman, Julia Kennedy, Michelle (Anthony) Hinojosa; three great-nephews, T.C., William, Kekoa; longtime friend that he considered a brother, Steve Cockrell; as well as family and friends that he loved dearly. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 12, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Jim Welch officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
