James B. (J.B.) Perry

James B. (J.B.) Perry, age 86 of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday February 28, 2018 at the Soin Medical Center.  He was born February 3, 1932 in West Liberty, KY, the son of the late James G. and Mildred M. (Hammond) Perry.  After graduating from high school, J.B. served his country proudly in the US Army during Korea.  He married the love of his life, Elsie (Bolin) Perry on August 28, 1952 and they were married 65 ½ years.  J.B. was employed as a truck driver, retiring from Complete Auto Transit, Inc. nearly 29 years ago.  He also drove for several other lines throughout his career, including Roadway and Eastern Express, Inc.  J.B. was a born again Christian and held his belief in the Lord supreme.  He loved to discuss Bible prophecy and the hereafter, and studied the Bible diligently seeking to unlock all the teachings of God’s word.  J.B. also loved woodworking and built many beautiful pieces of furniture from his own designs.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two beloved sons, James D. and Thomas R. Perry; two brothers, Gene and Reverend Clyde Perry; and a sister, Dorothy (Perry) Eldridge.  Survivors include his loving wife, Elsie; a daughter, Deborah (Ricky) Cook of Fairborn; a son, Timothy L. Perry of Houston, TX; sister, Kathy Adams; brother, Carl (Judie) Perry, both of Fairborn; grandchildren, Crystal (Cook) Perry of Fairborn, James Perry and Kristie Perry, both of Houston, TX, Thomas J. Perry of New Carlisle, Summer Kroh of Lansing, MI; several great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Soin Medical Center and Hospice of Dayton for J.B.’s kind and gracious care during his short illness.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 7, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday March 8, 2018 at 1:00 P.M., Pastor Tooney Easterling officiating.  Interment will follow at the Byron Cemetery.  Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a hospice of the donor’s choice.
