James R. “Bob” Kesner, of Fairborn, went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2018. He was born January 21, 1943, the son of the late James and Naomi Kesner. Bob had a great love of driving his Mustang, all things food, playing bridge, watching baseball, working in his flower gardens, traveling and singing along to Southern Gospel music. He drew great satisfaction with helping others … anytime or anyplace. His love and kindness was a witness and testimony to his belief and trust in God. Bob was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Fairborn. He enjoyed being a children’s Sunday school teacher, dedicated deacon and served on many church committees. There was always a smile on his face while singing in the choir or ringing hand bells. Bob retired from Wright Patterson Air Force base after 37 years of Federal service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John William Kesner (Bill) and a son-in-law, Sgt. Kevin S. Kight. Bob is survived by his wife Faye of 50 years, two daughters Christina Kight (Ken) McVay, of Panama City Beach, FL and Lisa (Dan) Weiss of Highlands Ranch, CO. Grandchildren Brandon Kight and Emma Weiss; a sister Joyce Adams, Murfreesboro, TN; sisters-in-law, Ann Cameron, Birmingham, AL; and Rita Kesner, Severna Park, MD, a niece and numerous nephews.
