DILLON, JAMES W. from New Carlisle Oh age 78 went home to be with the Lord on August 1, 2018. He was born in Marshfork, West Virgina on February 23, 1940, the son of the late James and Lillian (Austin) Dillon. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton in 1958. James served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He stationed at Pease Air Force Base in Portsmouth, NH, where he met and married his loving wife, Brenda. James retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. With his wife’s help he also founded the Fairborn Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, and was a dedicated Pastor for 35 years, retiring in July 2011. James traveled many miles in the work of the Lord. He did whatever he could to win souls for the Lord, assisting those needing help, whether it was spiritual, helping with their bills or food. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son; step-father, George Spencer; and sister, Nancy Ratliff. He leaves to treasure his memory, his loving wife Brenda of 56 years; daughter, Tina (Rodney) Stephens of Springfield, and son, Steven Dillon of New Carlisle; five grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Heather, Cody and Jessica; and seven great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday August 6, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor John Ward officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
