Jacob E. Keller, age 34 of Huber Heights, formerly of Michigan, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021. Jacob (Jake) was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1987, to Herman E. and Patricia K. (Clemens) Keller.
Jake grew up in rural Michigan and had a deep love for the outdoors. He was an avid member of the Boy Scouts of America and eventually achieved the honorable Eagle Scout award. Even as a young man, he had a level of dedication and work ethic that few could match. Jake went on to serve his country for eight years as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, working as a biomedical technician; installing, calibrating, and repairing machines throughout dozens of military hospitals. During his time in the military, Jake served a tour in Kuwait and later earned the Air Force Achievement Medal for outstanding service. Jake later went on to work for several area businesses maintaining heavy machinery, but ultimately aspired to develop a non-profit organization to aid his fellow veterans.
Jake was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his best buddy, his dog, Jupiter. Survivors and loved ones include his five beautiful children: Dylan, Caden, Blake, Aliyah, and Gabriel, who were all loved beyond measure. Additional survivors include their mother, Shannon Keller, his mother and father, Herman and Patricia; a baby sister, Julia Moore and her husband Kevin; a big brother, Matthew Keller and wife Amy; as well as many other extended family and friends.
Jacob’s memory will live on, not only through the lives of his amazing children, but by all the lives he’s touched throughout the years. He was a true and loyal friend, a devoted son, father, and brother. He could be tough as nails one moment but would completely melt every time his baby girl Aliyah asked for just about anything. Some of Jake’s happiest moments were spent on the lake, sailing with his siblings, or riding motorcycles in the woods. Jake was fearless, cunning, and his sense of humor was unrivaled.
Although Jacob will be greatly missed, we’re all incredibly grateful for every memory we have with him. 22-2-None is an organization that Jake held close to his heart. We ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made the non-profit who works to raise awareness and provide support to end veteran suicide, at www.222none.org.
Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn. Condolences may be made to the family at www.BeltonStroup.com. A private memorial will be held with immediate family later this week.
