Hurschel A. "Sunny" Harrison

July 30, 1943 — July 9, 2024

Hurschel A. “Sunny” Harrison, age 80 of Huber Heights, passed away July 9, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born July 30, 1943 in Barbourville, West Virginia, the son of the late Angus and Lola (Sargent) Harrison.  Sunny enlisted in the U.S. Air Force Vietnam and retired at the rank of TSgt. after over 23 years of service.   He was a member of New Beginnings Christian Church in Enon; and involved in Boy Scouts and Eagle Scouts.  Sunny enjoyed fishing, traveling by train, and going to the zoo.  He was a big fan of Johnny Cash.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; and six siblings.  Sunny is survived by two children, Charles “Chuck” Harrison, Melissa (Ryan) Lynd; three grandsons, David Conn, Caleb (Sydney) Conn, Benjamin Conn; three siblings; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and church friends.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday July 13, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Steven Sisco officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Sunny will be laid to rest with military honors next to his wife Judy at Byron Cemetery.
