Hubert Crider, age 90 of Fairborn, passed away Saturday May 18, 2019. He was born December 1, 1928 in Ages, KY, the son of the late Augustus and Nellie Isabel (Creekmore) Crider. Hubert served his country in the US Army and followed with employment at General Motors in security, retiring in 1985 after 30 years of service. He served as the chaplain of Alpha Lodge #729 F&AM in Dayton for many years and was a member of the Antioch Shrine. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Oleda Collett Crider in 2004; his second wife, Jessie Audrey Payne Crider in 2009; a brother, Kenneth Crider; and a sister, Evelyn Crider Reynolds. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Crider (Alan) Fleming of Columbus; step-grandson, Ethan Fleming; step-granddaughter, Erika (Jarod) Long; four brothers, William (Linda) Crider, James Crider, Britton (Doyce) Crider; Tom (Joanne) Crider two sisters, Phyllis (Bob) Vukovic, Yvonne Collier; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 23, 2019 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Bonnie Gerber officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Entombment with military honors will follow at the Byron Cemetery Mausoleum.
