Helen Taylor, age 92, of Fairborn, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 19, 2021. She was born July 4, 1929 in Beattyville, Kentucky; the daughter of the late John Oliver and Lillie Palmer. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Billie R. Taylor; step-mom, Ada Turner; brothers, Henry and Herman Oliver; and sister, Reba Tirey. Helen is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Nevitt; son, Steve Taylor; five grandchildren, Heather, Joshua, Ashley, Megan, Justin; sister-in-law, Elaine Taylor; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Helen was a devout Christian and loved Jesus which brought her to teach Sunday school for many years. She was known for her sewing and cooking, especially her love for her family. One of Helen’s hobbies include playing scrabble, she could win against anyone. Helen touched so many people’s lives, and she will be remembered by her family with this quote: “a long life lived, once met never forgotten.” A funeral service will be held Friday, July 23, 2021 a 2 PM at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn, OH 45324 with Pastor James Clayton officiating. Family and friends may visit from 1 PM until the time of service. Helen will be laid to rest next to her husband at Byron cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to the Trinity Community of Beavercreek -or- Hospice of Dayton.
