Gerald E. "Gerry" Murray

Gerald E. “Gerry” Murray, age 90 of Fairborn, passed away Sunday December 24, 2017.  He was born November 23, 1927 in Newark, NJ, the son of the late Edward and Marie (Fitzgerald) Murray.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam retiring at the rank of Major after 26 years of service. Gerry was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace church at WPAFB; and enjoyed square dancing, traveling and spending time with family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Harney; brother, Donald Murray; sister, Marie Peer.  He is survived by his loving wife, Emma; daughter, Joanne Murray (Alfred Duerig); two grandsons, Christopher (Sally) Harney, David (Cindy) Harney; great-granddaughter, Emery Harney; two step-great-grandchildren, Dayton Mastin, Anna Brown; and a brother, Edward (Ann) Murray.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday April 26, 2018 at 3:30 PM in the Elmcroft of Fairborn, 2270 Park Hills Dr., Fairborn.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
