Fred J. "Skip" Blankenhorn

Fred J. “Skip” Blankenhorn, age 73 of Fairborn, passed away Monday January 30, 2023 at his residence.  He was born September 29, 1949 in Dayton, the son of the late John F. and Patricia (Dalaska) Blankenhorn.

Skip was a charter member of Abiding Christ Lutheran Church and considered his fellow church members as family.  During his many years at Abiding Christ he served as steward, helped with VBS, and served as co-manager of the softball team.  Skip also valued the friendships made while residing at the Fairborn Senior Apartments over the last several years.  He was an avid Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Survivors include two sisters, Peggy Blankenhorn, Judy (Gary) Barnhart; a nephew, Christopher Barnhart; great-nephew, Michael Barnhart; cousin, Dawn Dalaska; as well as other extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 25, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Abiding Christ Lutheran Church, 326 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor June Fryman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Abiding Christ Lutheran Church Music Department.
