Fred E. Smith, Sr.

Fred E. Smith, Sr., age 77 of Lafayette, TN, formerly of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday January 24, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton.  He was born June 4, 1940 in Lenoir City, TN, the son of the late Fred W. and Violet R. (Clofeltter) Smith.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon in 2009.  Survivors include three children, Eddie (Liz) Smith, Rick (Lois) Smith, Jackie (Gary) Keen; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Cecil Smith of Florida; and a sister, Wanda Howard of Alabama.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday February 1, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
