Frank Harless, age 93 of Fairborn, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday December 10, 2017. He was born September 25, 1924 in Auxier, KY, the son of the late John V. and Ida (Goble) Harless. Frank served his country in the US Army during World War II and followed with employment in civil service at Wright-Patterson AFB, retiring after 36 years of service. He was a member of Fairborn Church of God / Victory Church since 1965; and enjoyed his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren very much. Frank loved to fish and did so for many years during the winter months in Florida with dear friends, Lonnie Stevens, Charles Caskey, and Earl Rowland. He gardened for many years and loved to tinker on his lawn mowers and piddle in his garage; and he walked many miles with mom over the years either around the neighborhood or at the mall. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Ed Harless; and a sister, Malta Tenney. Frank is survived by his wife of 72 years, Faye (Truesdell) Harless; three daughters and son-in-laws, Betty (Walker) Compton, Sharon (Darrell) Hill, Darlene (Gary) Phillips; five grandchildren, Jill (Robert) Sawey, Melissa (Mitchell) Boedicker, Rebecca Hill, Jason (Rochelle) Phillips, Jennifer (Jason) Hensley; eleven great-grandchildren, Amber (Andy) Lahtinen, Alison (Ian) Cavener, Trevor (Paige) Simerlein, Madison Simerlein, McKenna Simerlein, Ty Boedicker, Trey Boedicker, Brooke Phillips, Cole Phillips, Rylee Hensley, Carter Hensley; five great great grandchildren, Lilyana Lahtinen, Jude Lahtinen, Hayden Cavener, Baby Cavener, Nora Simerlein; three brothers, George Harless, Mack (DeeAnn) Harless, Robert (Charlene) Harless; a sister, Linda Burchfield; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Victory Church, 2443 Valle Greene Dr., Fairborn, Pastor Ancil Carter and Pastor Tim Walden officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
