Frank C. Gilbert, III, age 67 of Fairborn, was called home on Monday June 5, 2023. He was born August 27, 1955 in San Ysidro, CA, the son of the late Frank C., II and Thomasa (Smith) Gilbert.
Frank was a proud patriot, serving his country in the US Army; and followed with a career as a dedicated employee of the City of Fairborn in the water and sewer department, retiring in 2021 after close to 30 years of service.
Family was most important to Frank and he loved spending time with his nine grandchildren, as well as going on road trips with his wife in search of all of the 9/11 memorials they could find.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Gilbert. Survivors include is wife of 48 years, Connie; children, Frank C. IV (Jennifer) Gilbert, Dodi (Justin) Adamson, Joel (Brandy) Gilbert; grandchildren, Rylie, Harley, Keegan, Savannah, Lynsie, Max, Maria, Maya, Nolan; siblings, Doris Tabieros, Sam Gilbert, Steven Gomez, Daniel Gomez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday June 9, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday June 10, 2023 at 12:00 noon, Kenneth Garrett officiating. The family will also receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday. The family requests casual dress.
