Ferl Combs

Ferl Combs, age 84, of Fairborn, OH, went to be with the Lord in her heavenly home on Thursday, December 3, 2020. She was born on March 25, 1936 in Elliott County, KY, the daughter of the late Nelson “Doc” and Verlie Mae (Stephens) Keeton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Ruth Combs; brother, Kindell Keeton; seven sisters, Edith Mart, Opal Colegrove, Jean Lindon, Dolly Campbell, Wanda Combs, Brenda Cartwright, and Kay Stinson. Ferl is survived by her husband of 62 years, Carloe Combs; brothers, Dinsel Keeton and Donald (Loretta) Keeton; daughters, Ronda (Gary) Boles, Tammy (Carl) Hartman, and Rebecca Combs; grandchildren, Caleb (Jessica) Boles, Joshua Boles, CJ Hartman, Private Samuel Hartman, Benjamin Hartman, and LeaAnn Combs; great grandchildren, Cheyenne Hartman, Abigail Boles, and Nicholas Boles; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ferl loved to spread the Word of God though her gospel singing. She never met a stranger and loved her family fiercely. Everyone will remember her sense of humor and her smile that lit up the room. What Ferl loved most was to spend time with her loving family and giving of herself as she adored everyone she met. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 pm Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, OH. A funeral will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home with Reverend Dwayne Bryan and Reverend Carl Hartman officiating. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery. Due to COVID19 the family asks all family and friends to kindly wear a mask and to practice social distancing to limit exposure.
