Eunice Teen Glidewell

September 1, 1932 — April 28, 2023

Eunice Teen Glidewell, age 90 of Fairborn, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023.  She was born September 1, 1932, in Bulan, Kentucky, the daughter of the late David and Harriett (Godsey) Miller.

Teen graduated in 1951 from of Robinson High School in Ary, KY where she was the salutatorian.  After graduation, she joined the U.S. Army and served her country during the Korean War era.   While serving, she met her loving husband James, also in the Army, outside of William Beaumont General Hospital in El Paso, TX.  They fell in love and were later married in Garmisch, Germany after she requested a transfer to be stationed near him.   While overseas she was assigned to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), in Paris, France where she attained the rank of Corporal.   She also worked at the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and Wright Patterson AFB as a civil servant.

Teen’s greatest pride was in her family where she set the standard and passed on to others how to lead a life well lived.  She was the family matriarch and was wise, kind, gentle, generous, selfless, unassuming, loving and always brought a smile to everyone’s face when she graced a gathering of loved ones with her presence.  She enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with her family and close friends and was always there for them when needed.  She never turned anyone away and donated to every charity that asked.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James; siblings, Grafton Miller, Irene Howard, and Robert “Bob” Miller.  Teen is survived by her three sons, David Glidewell, John (Pamela) Glidewell, and Larry (Jennifer) Glidewell; five grandchildren; Amanda Stacia, Zachary (Priscilla) Glidewell, Erica (Blake) Goff, Alex (Ann) Glidewell, and Spencer Glidewell; seven Great grandchildren; Amanda Glidewell, Lillian Glidewell, Billy Glidewell, Kaia Goff, Silas Goff, Ayla Glidewell, and Tatum Glidewell; five siblings, Ruby (Harold) Shivener, Jan (Sonny) Ross, Sharon Miller, Charlene (Stanley) Arrowwood, and Dan (Judy) Miller.

Burial will be held Thursday, 11 May 2023 at 10 A.M. at Dayton National Cemetery for those who wish to pay their respects.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in her name.
