Erma G. Fyffe, age 82 of Springfield, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Hospice of Dayton. Born July 21, 1935 in Morgan Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late Richard Armo and Emma (Haney) Benton. Erma was a longtime member of the Enterprise Baptist Church in Fairborn, where she loved teaching Sunday School to young children for many years. Very faithful in her visitation ministry, Erma brought joy and comfort to many shut-ins as well as people in nursing homes and hospitals. Her hobbies included traveling, singing with her family, watching wildlife and crocheting sweaters for infants. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Pilate in 2015; daughter Pamela Kaye in 1974; stepfathers, Loren David Ferguson and Paul Jordan. She is survived by son, David Keith (Betty) Fyffe of Muscatine, IA; granddaughter, Jessica (Joseph) Hoiberg of Muscatine, IA; siblings, Leslie Wallace (Joyce) Ferguson, Phyllis Reed Gardner, Betty Haynes, Sandra (Dean) Beculhimer, Richard (Kay) Benton, Sandra Jo (George) Cook, Lois Benton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many dear friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a memorial service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Pastors Richard Engle and Bobby Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Enon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
