Emmett "Pug" Lemaster

May 22, 1941 — May 4, 2024

Emmett “Pug” LeMaster, age 82, was born on May 22, 1941, and passed away on May 4, 2024, after battling a long-term illness. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Jennie M. (Petersen) LeMaster; his brother, Larry LeMaster (Linda); sisters-in-law, Lois (Petersen) Gall (Dana), Kimberly (Petersen) Watson (Michael); his beloved nieces and nephews, many cousins, friends, and loved ones.

Pug was a man who wore many hats. In his younger days, he worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (where he met Jennie). He went to school to become a welder, and he became a boiler maker. Pug worked on many commercial and US Navy ships in the California shipyards, and he hauled coal in Kentucky. He later worked as a dry wall hanger and with the help of Jennie, refurbished the many homes they shared. Pug was an avid reader, famous storyteller, and jokester. Pug knew no strangers. He loved and was loved by so many. Pug will be truly, sadly missed.

Pug was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Dessie (Howard) LeMaster; sisters, Linda Pearson and Patricia Martin; his first wife, Dorothy (Spencer) LeMaster; daughter, Shelly LeMaster; and beloved faithful dog, Lizzie.

Pug’s final wishes were to be cremated and he will later be laid to rest at Byron Cemetery.
