Emma Orena Shelton

Emma Orena (Garner) Shelton, 88, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024, in her home.

Orena was born in Jellico TN. to James and Rebecca Garner on March 21, 1935.  She moved to Dayton Ohio with her family at the end of WWII and later graduated from Kiser High School in 1953.  She married Willie Hubert Shelton on September 17th, 1955.  She worked in public service for most of her professional life, first with the Montgomery County Ohio Planning Commission, then for Miami Township, Ohio.

Orena is preceded in death by her husband and 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Shirley (Shelton) Keske and husband Arthur, and her son Will (Buddy) Shelton and wife Stacey; 7 grandchildren; Jason Keske, Kevin Keske, Brian Keske, Julie (Shelton) Ramos, Paige Shelton, Braden Shelton, Andrew Shelton; 2 great-grandchildren, Katherine Keske and Sophia Keske.

Casket bearers will be Jason Keske, Kevin Keske, Brian Keske, Braden Shelton, Andrew Shelton, and Will Shelton.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn, OH 45324. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M., until the time of service, Pastor Derek Trenum of Victory Church, officiating. Burial to follow at Mount Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek, OH. Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn, Ohio.
