Edith Adkins

Edith Adkins, age 87 of Sugarcreek Twp., passed away Thursday December 20, 2018.  She was born October 23, 1931 in Man, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Lonnie and Linnie (Frye) McDaniel.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Arnold on December 16, 2017; grandson, Matthew Gabbard; daughter-in-law, Jean Adkins; and four siblings, Lora, Martha, Earl, and Roger.  She is survived by five children, Mark Anthony Adkins, Deby (Roger) Moore, Greg Adkins (Sharon Farquer), Michelle (Henry) Gabbard, Doug (Pam) Adkins; nine grandchildren, Angi, Marci, Nikki, Mark, Kim, Kris, Scott, Stephanie, Ryan; many great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other extended family; and her beloved dog, Walter.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 26, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association -or- the American Cancer Society.
