Douglas M. Risner, 81, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2021. Doug was born on October 19,1939, to the late Ed and Mary Risner. He grew up in Jackson, Ohio, but lived most of his life on the top of the hill in Fairborn, Ohio.
Doug was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jackie; daughter, Kris Burton; and father and mother, Ed and Mary Risner. He is survived by his son, Jeff (Stephanie) Risner; daughter, Pam (Bill) Swann; son-in-law David Burton; 7 grandchildren Jeffry, Cody (Meghan Moeller), and Samantha Risner; Justin (Shannon) and Bri Swann (Justin Walters); Kaleb (Heather) Burton; and Danelle (Zak) Wille; and 5 great-grandchildren, Addison Risner; Rylee and Everlee Wille; and Karlie and Harper Burton.
Doug was a long-time active member of the Fairborn Masonic Lodge #764. In 1997, he became a Master Mason and in 2002, 2005 and 2006 was elected Worshipful Master. He was also a member of the Knights of the York Cross of Honour.
Doug especially loved to golf and hunt with his son. If he wasn’t doing those two things, you would find him busy making golf clubs or fixing mowers, cars or anything with a motor. He was always willing to help out his neighbors and friends in return for food. His family and friends will best remember him sitting on one of his many rider mowers while mowing his very large yard or sitting out on his front porch sharing all his stories with his loving family, his wonderful caring neighbors, and his amazing friends.
Visitation will be held on 9 June 2021 at Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E Dayton Yellow Springs Rd, Fairborn, OH from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held by the family.
