Dorothy Howard

Dorothy Howard, age 88 of Fairborn passed away December 16, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born January 24, 1933 in Sand Lick, Kentucky, the daughter of the late James and Roxie (Hamilton) Cantrell.  Dorothy lived in Fairborn for 75 years; and was a longtime member of Enterprise Baptist Church.  She attended 41 openings for the Fairborn Little League Ball Park; watching her children and her grandchildren play.  Dorothy enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; three grandsons, Ben Howard, Andrew Howard, Matthew Howard; five siblings, Darlie Cantrell, Paul Cantrell, Ted Cantrell, Danny Cantrell, and Bill Cantrell.  Dorothy is survived by five children, Mike (Jennifer) Howard, John Howard, Phillip (Mel) Howard, Terry (Rick) Spivey, Timothy (Cathy) Howard, twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; brother, Doc (Lavergne) Cantrell; two half-sisters, Dee, Joyce; as well as extended family.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Enterprise Baptist Church,1614 Stewart Blvd., Pastors Pat Morris and Stuart Snow officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Dorothy will be laid to rest at Byron Cemetery next to her husband.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in her memory.
