Dennie H. “Dennis” Shaver, Jr., age 57 of Fairborn, passed away Friday June 5, 2020. He was born June 7, 1962 in Xenia, the son of Dennie H., Sr. and Joanne M. (Myers) Shaver.
Dennis fell in a work-related accident when he was 18 years old that resulted in many surgeries and struggles throughout his life. A car and truck enthusiast, he built hot rods with his dad and had been employed as a body shop tech with several area automobile dealers. Dennis was a member of Victory Church and was very artistic, making things out of leather, knife handles out of deer antlers, and many carved walking sticks. He was a Bengals and Nascar fan, an avid Fox News viewer, devoted Trump supporter, and didn’t go anywhere without his Mt. Dew and wearing his camo. Dennis loved his children and grandchildren dearly, his beloved dog, Gypsy, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. Survivors include his parents of Fairborn; three children, Jeremy (Julia) Shaver of FL, Michelle (Jeremy) Nickel of Fairborn, Amber (Randy) Lear of IN; seven grandchildren, Lexi, Joe, Jackson, Kayla, Emma, Kylee, Addi; two sisters, Cheryl Shaver of Fairborn, Kathy (Tom) Taylor of Fairborn; a nephew, Michael Cooper; niece, Heather Taylor; great niece, Autumn Cooper; cousins, Russell and Frankie Shaver, Barb Masters; good friend, Jeff Collins; as well as other extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 9, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Victory Church, 2443 Valle Greene Dr., Fairborn, Pastor Derek Trenum officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
