David Brent Handshoe, age 68 of Huber Heights, passed away Thursday August 18, 2022. He was born June 1, 1954 in Bucyrus, Ohio, the son of the late Billy Ray and June Elizabeth (Payne) Handshoe.
David retired from Miller Brewing Company, where he was employed as a production scheduler. An adventure seeker, he was a licensed private pilot, owning a Skybolt biplane taildragger that he named Garnet Ann after his late wife; as well as an advanced open water diver. David also enjoyed traveling, having visited many places all over the world.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Garnet Ann. Survivors include two daughters, April (Matt) Leonard of Wyoming, Jessica (Timmy) Ainsworth of Texas; eight grandchildren, Hailey, Brent, Claire, Rebecca, Tabitha, Zachariah, Eli, Noah; a brother, Darrell (Cassie) Handshoe of Fairborn; a sister, Debra (Steve) Montgomery of Kentucky; step-mother, Joyce (Dave) Hale of New Carlisle; as well as other extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 17, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Faith Hill Church of God, 35 Vanderbilt Drive, Fairborn, Pastor Steve Waggoner officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the church. Inurnment will be held by the family at a later date at Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
