Darrold Crites passed away Wednesday May 8th age 75. Born in Bayreuth, Germany October 24,1948, the son of the late (MSGT) Carl and Inge (Rumpel) Crites. Darrold a Vietnam Veteran proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. A well known member of the Fairborn community often involved with local activities. Darrold was a masterful barber with a passion for teaching. Later lending his knowledge and Instructor and Director of the Dayton Barber College. A self taught musician he could often be found singing with his banjo surrounded by family and friends alike. An avid Harley enthusiast he cherished his time riding with the Gray Riders. Any additional free time was dedicated to tracing his families rich and colorful history. Darrold is reunited with his wife and greatest love Kathy. Also proceeding him in death were his brother Steve Crites and Grandson (Sgt)Joe Jarrell III. Darrold is survived by two daughters, Kristi Crites, Erika (David) McCoy; grandchildren, Chelsie (Matt) Perrin, Chase Vaughen; Stella McCoy; Mac McCoy; great-granddaughter, Clementine Perrin; two nephews, Carl (Jessica) Crites, Sean (Nicole) Crites; as well as extended family and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday May 19, 2024 at 12:00 noon at the Fairborn VFW Post 6861, 503 W. Funderburg Rd., Fairborn.
