Craig R. Heishman, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on March 30, 2025, at the age of 76 in Enon. Born on December 24, 1948, in Ft. Meade, Maryland. A Vietnam veteran, Craig served honorably in the U.S. Army. Upon completing his military obligations, he entered a career with the U.S. Government, where he worked for 35 years before retiring. Craig graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in English. His interests included golfing, fishing, horse racing, and traveling. Most importantly, he cherished spending time with his family and dear friends creating memories that will be treasured. Craig was an active member of the American Legion # 371 and AmVets organizations.He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, wit and his unwavering love for his family.
Craig is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Joy; his daughter-in-law, Patty Wilson; his grandson, Wayne III (Katie) Wilson; great-grandson, Wayne Wilson IV; two sisters, Claudia J. Johnson and Marsha Reid, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude "Whitey" and Gladys "Tia" (Chumley) Heishman; son, Wayne R. Wilson, Jr.; and brother, Charles Heishman.
Funeral service will be held at Belton Stroup Funeral Home in Fairborn, 422 E Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, on April 5, 2025 at 1:00 P.M., Pastor Cynthia ReevesStewart officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Burial with military honors will follow at Byron Cemetery
