Conner Thomas Wilhelm

Conner Thomas Wilhelm, 9-year-old son of Matthew Thomas and Sarah Marie (Sparling) Wilhelm, passed away September 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

He was born August 5, 2014 in Kettering and was a student at Fairborn Primary School.  Conner was a three-time cancer warrior and despite that always carried a wonderful disposition on life.  He loved all seasons of life and taught all those who loved him to truly enjoy the simple things in life.  He was an avid lover of spending time outside riding bikes, exploring, and spending time in his special fort.  He was a natural giver, collecting toys for other children in the hospital because he knew the feeling of spending many nights and holidays there.   Conner was the sweetest, kindest, most gentle and loving little boy you could ever meet.

Conner was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Kenneth and Patricia Sparling, Donald Gross; paternal great-grandparents, Harold and Louise Wilhelm and Richard Wickerham and Lois Wickerham-Saxton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents and two brothers, Logan and Grayson of Fairborn; maternal grandparents, David and Lori Gross of Springfield; paternal grandparents, Hal and Lezleigh Wilhelm of Fairborn; aunts and uncles, Helen and Nick Talley, Katelyn and Tyrell Howard, Sacha and Bill Adams, Tim and Deverne Sparling, Mark and Roxanne Sparling, Paul and Karen Sparling, Leslie (Terry) Justus, LeeAnne Sparling, Kristin Sparling, John and Carol Wickerham; as well as many other extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 7, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Fairborn, 1167 Highview Drive, Dr. David Rakes officiating.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions are made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati or Alex’s Lemonade Stand.
