Cathy D. Mercer Shackleford

Cathy D. Mercer Shackleford, age 66, of Fairborn, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 6, 2021. She was born December 31, 1954 in West Liberty, Kentucky; the daughter of the late Hager Berlin and Anna Merl (Smith) Ratliff. Along with her parents, Cathy is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 20 years, David Shackleford; sister, Lorene Campbell; and brothers, Bill Ratliff and Smoky Ratliff. She is survived by her sister, Charlene Ratliff; grandson, Zac Mercer; granddaughter, Brianna Mercer; great granddaughter, Stacia Maynard; daughter, Melissa Plemmons; brothers, Rommie Ratliff and Junior Ratliff; special niece, Vanessa Kozlowski; her loving Jack Russel Terrier, Josie; many nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family and friends. Cathy knew her Lord and Savior and often read her Bible. She also loved to cook and tend to her garden, especially her roses. She would share her recipes with her family and friends to bring everyone closer together. What Cathy cherished most was her loving family as she was the sweetest and most generous person to everyone she met. Cathy will be forever missed by her family.
