Brenda Gayle Lewis Ferguson

Brenda Gayle Lewis Ferguson, age 77 passed away, Sunday December 10, 2023 in Dayton. She was born November 17, 1946, in West Liberty, KY, the daughter of the late Elbert Lewis and Eva Lewis Stidham.

She married her high school sweetheart, Dolpha “Doc” Ferguson, June of 1964 and was happily married until Doc’s passing, February 2017.

Brenda is survived by her son, Craig (Annye Barnhiser) Ferguson; daughter, Shawnna (Tolley) Wharton; four grandchildren; Kenzie (Travis) Hall, Tori (Zach Smith) Ferguson, Christina Ferguson, Mason Wharton; a great-grandson, Hudson Hall; and her faithful fur companion, AJ (Jaybird).

Brenda has been a Christian all of her life, she was a member of the Wilmington Church of God. She used to play the piano and sing at church; and one of her favorite things to do was attending the Timeless Group, she loved her church family so much.

She was an avid reader. Amish books and culture have always been of interest to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren; watching UK basketball play as well as The Ohio State football and The Bengals. Mom’s favorite saying was always, “It is what it is!”

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH 45324. Where a graveside service will be held Friday, December 15, 2023, at 11:00 A.M., at the Byron Cemetery Mausoleum, 3256 Trebein Rd., Fairborn, Pastors Rick Lewis and Rich Boll officiating.
