Betty Jean Ratliff, age 82 of Springfield, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 26, 2024. She was born in Mima, Kentucky (Morgan Co.) the daughter of the late Bazzie and Nancy M. (Roseberry) Cantrell.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother, mama, sister, and friend to many. She prioritized spending time with her family. In her free time, she excelled at cake decorating—creating unique styles, pastries, and sugary greatness! Betty will be remembered for her plentiful gardens in which her and her late husband Guy canned nearly every year together.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her dear spouse of 60 loving years, Guy L. Ratliff; son, James Ratliff; son-in-law, Donnie Keeton; siblings, Elsie Faye Holbrook, Ova Cantrell, Thomas Cantrell, Margie Wright, Tilda Smith, and Essie Ferguson. Betty is survived by three children, Regina (Phillip) Stinson, Rebecca Keeton, Michelle (Nelson) Bowling; eleven grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Justin, Dylan, Tabitha (Matt), Kyle (Taylor), Jake, Tom (Kelly), Brian (Brittany), Dustin (Makayla), D.J. (Kelsey); ten great-grandchildren, Madi, Kayden, Quintin, Kynslee, Charlotte, Ryker, Allison, Brianna, Camille, Millie; two sisters, Wilma Trimble, Becky Dorsten; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH 45324. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M., until the time of service, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. Burial to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle, OH.
