Betty B. Compton

September 12, 1946 — November 6, 2020

Betty B. Compton, age 74 of Fairborn, went to her heavenly home on Friday November 6, 2020 at Soin Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.  She was born September 12, 1946 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Frank and Faye (Truesdell) Harless.

Betty was employed in civil service at Wright-Patterson AFB at NASIC, retiring in 2001 after 35 years of service.  She attended Victory Church and Faircreek Church in Fairborn and Liberty Baptist Church in Tavares, Florida.  Betty took great joy in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and she was Grandma Betty to many others.  Her family was most important to her and she helped take excellent care of her parents; and she also enjoyed crocheting.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 55 years, Walker; two daughters, Jill (Rob) Sawey, Melissa (Mitch) Boedicker; seven grandchildren, Amber (Andy) Lahtinen, Alison (Ian) Cavener, Trevor (Paige) Simerlein, Madison Simerlein, McKenna Simerlein, Ty Boedicker, Trey Boedicker; six great-grandchildren, Lilyana Lahtinen, Jude Lahtinen, Hayden Cavener, Owen Cavener, Nora Simerlein, Soren Simerlein; two sisters, Sharon (Darrell) Hill, Darlene (Gary) Phillips; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, a host of other extended family and friends.  She will be greatly missed, loved and cherished, until we meet again!

The family will receive friends on Monday November 9, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 10, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Victory Church, 2443 Valle Greene Dr., Fairborn, Pastors Derek Trenum and Greg Trout officiating.  The family will also receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the church.  Burial will follow the service at Byron Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Circle of Victory Fund, which supports local cancer patients, and all funds stay in Greene County. www.CircleOfVictory.org
