Bernadette Costello

Bernadette Costello, age 86 of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday October 2, 2024 at Blue Bird Retirement Community.  She was born August 9, 1938 in Bromley, England, the daughter of the late Conrad and Esther (O’Mahony) Wilcox.  She was a longtime member of the Catholic Chapel Community at Wright-Patterson AFB.  Bernadette enjoyed knitting, traveling, and shopping for shoes and jewelry.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. (ret.) Edmund; and son, Brendan. Survivors include three children, Siobhan Tirado, Eamon (Shelley) Costello, Aylish (Jim) Connolly; four grandsons, Brendan, Tristan (Kaylin), Declin, Conor; three step-grandchildren, Owen, Brennan, Mairen; three great-grandchildren, Oliver, Greyson, Giselle; three siblings, Maureen Wilcox, Kevin Wilcox, Russell (Marie) Wilcox; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 8, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday October 9, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at the Prairies Chapel, 682 Chapel Lane, Wright-Patterson AFB, Father Donald Moss Celebrant. Burial will at 9:00 A.M. on October 10, 2024 at Dayton National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice in memory of Bernadette.
