Ancil J. Adkins

Ancil J. Adkins, age 74 of Fairborn, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, in the comfort of his home. He was born April 25, 1949 in Greene County, Ohio, the son of the late Clyde and Laura (Click) Adkins.

He served his country in the U.S. Army and followed with employment at Miller Brothers Excavating.  Ancil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and sibling. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also enjoyed singing and watching old western television shows. Ancil will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; brothers, Clifford, Claude, Roger, Roy, and Burl Adkins; sisters, Wanda Adkins and Dolliey Sconzo. Ancil is survived by three children, Ancil Jason Adkins, Jennifer (Mark) Smith, Justin Clyde Adkins, four grandchildren, Laura and Cole Smith, Taylor and A.J. Adkins; four great-grandchildren, Kaisen, Lucas, Rilynn, Weston; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service, Pastor Buck Smith officiating. Burial to follow at Byron Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Wilma.
