Alice J. Braun

Mrs. Alice J. Braun, age 83, and a longtime resident of Fairborn, Ohio passed away Wednesday September 22, 2021 at Soin Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 16, 1938 in Doylestown, OH, the daughter of the late Lazar and Juliana (Vegh) Pavkov.

Alice was employed in the accounting field for most of her career. While her husband Jerry was in the Air Force stationed in California, she worked for the well-known Knudsen Creamery and with Southwestern Portland Cement Company; and after relocating to Fairborn she was employed with Sears and happily worked for Red Oak Mobile Home Park.

Alice attended First Baptist Church of Fairborn and she enjoyed visiting and spending lunchtime meals with her Spa Gals’ group.  Alice’s family was most important to her and she was a loving wife, mom, Grammy, great-grandma, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Art, Hank, and Joe; two sisters, Donna and Irene; and an infant great-granddaughter, Sophia.  Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Jerry; three daughters, Julie (Rob) Purdy, Carrie (Dave) Taylor, April Braun; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Angie) Purdy, Brandon (Jessica) Purdy, Rachel Vickhouse, Sarah Taylor, Noelle Taylor, Vito Monaco, Vincent Monaco (Father: William Vito Monaco); great-grandchildren, Luke and Charlotte Purdy, Raye and David Vickhouse; Alex and Dalton Jarvis; two sisters, Jean Neely and Daisy Greenlees; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday October 3, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Steve Stiglich officiating.  A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
