Judith A. Kozma, age 80 of Centerville passed away Tuesday October 10, 2023. Judy was born June 26, 1943 in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary (Yount) Stief, her Sister Mary Jo, and her husband Ron of 57 years.
Judy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed all aspects of life, especially any of the numerous activities involving her three granddaughters. Judy is survived by her children, Leigh Ann Trame (Steve), of Charlotte, NC, Keith Kozma (Barb), of Dayton, OH; and three granddaughters, Mallory Trame, of Charlotte, NC, Alexandra Trame, of Denver, CO and Victoria Kozma, of Dayton, OH.
Judy graduated High School from St. Aloysius Academy in Rome, NY and completed an associate’s degree from Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY. Judy worked at WKTV in Utica, NY where she appeared in commercials, weather spots, and was Miss Judy in a children’s television show before devoting her life as a full time military wife and mother.
Judy married her high school sweetheart, Ron, in July 1966. Being a military wife, Judy followed her husband around the country and Europe for his numerous assignments and eventually returned to Bloomsburg, PA upon his retirement in 1992. Ever the fashionista, she worked at Exclusively You bridal shop for several years helping numerous brides with their special day. Their last move was to Dayton, OH in 2006 to be near their children and grandchildren. Judy was a member of the Officer’s Wives Club at numerous Air Force Bases, and in her free time she was a fabulous cook, especially of the sweets variety, and she loved playing bingo, mahjong, and cards with family.
A visitation will be held on Thursday October 19, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday October 20, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Church of the Incarnation, 55 Williamsburg Lane, Dayton, OH 45459. Burial will follow the funeral service at 2:00pm at the Dayton National Cemetery 4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make a donation in Judy’s memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
